Bluebells

During the last two weeks I have focused on my physical wellbeing and as a family we have settled once more into our familiar routine of work, pre-school and general day to day activities. It is a simple routine which many would find mundane and dull but which I find comforting and most welcome.
Thank you to everyone who left  kind and encouraging comments on my previous post. They mean such a lot to me. Just the last few days I have felt a huge improvement and I intend to continue to build on this.

This week *my legs, at least, have been getting plenty of exercise. We haven't ventured far from home but we've been along lanes, up hills, through fields and into the woods. The  Bluebells were making an appearance the last time we were there, but since then the green of the woodland floor has been transformed into a carpet of blue. There were Bluebells as far as the eye could see, all dancing in the breeze. The sunlight through the gentle canopy of the trees was making beautiful patterns on the ground. I could have stayed there all day.

We must have walked for miles altogether, although there is always the obligatory stop for refreshment, yet I never seem to feel tired in these surroundings.

* As anyone accompanying a small child knows, my lungs have also been exercised through shouting "wait there!" "come on!" "get off that, it's too high!" and many, many more similar expressions of 'encouragement.'

    1. It was simply breathtaking. We had the woods to ourselves. I don't think many people know about it. X

  4. Hello again Jules ... once again I'm coming across from Jo's blog to visit you!
I saw the bluebells and just couldn't resist commenting.
Fabulous photograph's which took me back to my youth and walking in the bluebell woods with my parents. Now I do it with my grandchildren - you just can't beat the great outdoors.

    All the best Jan

  7. Oh yes, powerful lungs and a 'big' voice come in very handy with a little one especially when they're charging ahead of you. Considering their legs are so little they can move super fast.

The photos are lovely. I've just read a comment on Sadie's blog about bluebells being considered a weed and I thought surely not but apparently in the wrong place (can there ever be such a thing for bluebells), they definitely come under the week category and can take years to get rid of. Who in their right mind would want to get rid of bluebells.

So glad to hear you're improving and managing to get out and about every day. xx

    1. Your Thursdays will become more eventful once Sienna is on the move! And yes, Lily is very fast.
I can't think of Bluebells being thought of as weeds. They are such a beautiful flower. Individually they are pretty but in their huge swathes they are stunning. X

  8. So glad to hear you've been feeling better. Those mundane routines can be such a comfort and so reassuring. The pictures are lovely! I haven't seen any bluebells, here. I don't think they grow here. But I first read about them in a story book when I was a child and was fascinated.

    1. Thank you Bless. I expect mundane would have been far more preferable than your 'excitement' the other day. I'm just pleased everything turned out OK. X

  9. mundane and dull always works for me too. Drama is overrated, I prefer the ordinary.

Oh yes, mums are forever having to bellow!

Beautiful photos, I'm glad you are getting out and about. xx

    1. Oh yes! Ordinary works for me too. I don't like drama.
I feel dreadful having to shout out sometimes when we are in such peaceful surroundings but Lily does have a habit of charging off in front. Although wearing her pink jacket proves to be useful in that she can be easily spotted from a distance. X
