Early December Morning

The sky was beautiful and clear as dawn broke. This was the scene as I made my way to work early this morning. It wasn't freezing, although you'd be forgiven for thinking it was, it had certainly felt chilly enough, and even then I'd been wrapped up well in my hat, scarf and gloves.

I've spent another morning dashing around, but with just a couple of hours to spare I managed to accomplish everything I had set out to do. I am now stocked up with plenty of Christmas cards, enough brandy for making my mince pies, Christmas crackers - absolutely essential according to Lily, and most importantly, something sparkly for her to wear for the class Christmas party. I feel much better knowing all these bitty things are now out of the way and I can just concentrate on finishing my gift buying and making sure we have the necessary foodstuffs for the day itself. Then once all that is done with, the most important part, simply enjoying the season.

  3. It was below zero here in the welsh hills, as witnessed by the ice on my pond snail tub!

  5. The promise of a beautiful day Jules, I love the crescent moon. It was a lovely day here today so I grabbed the chance of a good walk with the dogs - we were getting cabin fever having been on enforced 'round the block' or 'garden walks' because of the horrible weather.

    1. It is a wonderful feeling when you can get out again properly, following a spell of miserable weather. I expect Poppie and Snowy were relieved. X

  6. That's wonderful, Jules. I agree. It really makes life less stressful when you tick those things off of your list. Having the special foods this time of year is a treat. It really ups our quality of life.

    1. I often find all those little jobs to be a bit of a chore. Having little time to accomplish them creates even more of a challenge, so I'm relieved to have them checked off my list. :)

  7. What a lovely early morning scene. I also spent yesterday morning rushing around different places but managed to get everything crossed off my list. A little bit more of the same this morning and then I am done, hopefully!

  8. You're getting there with your to do list. It's a lot of pressure for a working Mum before you can really relax and enjoy Christmastime with the family.

  9. Small world, I have a photo of that same moon, taken yesterday morning 🥰.

Huge well done for having achieved so much. I have most of the decorations up, and with just two of us the food preparations are negligible.

    1. I don't blame you, it was such a beautiful morning.
I think we'll put a few decorations up this evening, the advent stockings look a bit lonely. X

  10. I loved yesterday morning's slither of a moon, not so much the heavy frost, I had to chip it off the bin to get inside it! xxx
